Moses' New Wheels

Over the past few months, Moses has served over fifty hours by cooking, setting up, and cleaning up after at Miracle Hill Ministries’ Celebrate Recovery meetings and graduation. In exchange for his work, he just earned a bicycle, along with a lock, lights, and helmet, from Village Wrench. He feels worthy of earning it after his hard work. “I like serving. It takes me out of the place of thinking about myself and moves me toward focusing on other people’s needs. I get the most joy from seeing the smiles on their faces when I help them.”

Up to this point, Moses mainly depends on the bus for transportation, then on his own two feet. Now that he has his bike, he thinks he’ll use that most often. “It’s way more efficient than taking the bus. A bike takes me places around town that the bus doesn’t go.” Once the weather is warmer this spring, Moses is also excited to invite other earners referred through Miracle Hill to ride together for exercise on the Swamp Rabbit Trail downtown. “I thank Village Wrench for providing this nice bike and the many people they have connected with over the years. I’m glad to be one of them. It’s a whole family here, and it feels good to be a part of something larger than yourself.

We’re grateful for Moses’ community service and the opportunities and mobility that his new bike will afford him in Greenville. Thank you for also being a part of this family through your giving, volunteerism, and patronage at the Village Wrench bicycle shop!

Each class we feed our students a simple dinner. We need individuals and groups to provide food, take out sponsorships, and monetary donations we can use to feed our groups of hard working teens! It can be as simple as Publix subs, lasagna, pizza, or a home cooked taco bar. Email Jessica to help. There are 10 people and dinner can be dropped off between 5:30-6:00pm on Feb 22 & 29 + March 5, 12, & 19.
